On the 5th day of Cookies, Chef Gorman brings to us:

Peanut Butter Blossoms

 

Ingredients

1 bag of Hershey Kisses

½ cup of Crisco 

¾ Cup of Peanut Butter

⅓ cup of sugar

⅓ cup packed light brown sugar

1 egg 

2 tbsp of milk

1 tsp of vanilla

1 ½ cups of AP flour

1 tsp of baking soda

½ tsp of salt

Sugar for rolling

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Beat shortening, peanut butter, sugars until fluffy.
  3. Add egg, milk and vanilla until combined. Scraping sides after each addition.
  4. Mix flour, baking soda, salt in a separate bowl and pour into butter mixture. Mix until combined.
  5. Scoop and shape dough into 1” balls and roll into sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 8-10 minutes.
  6. Once baked immediately place a Hershey Kiss into the center of the cookie. Allow to cool before eating (or not;).
