Not every restaurant becomes a home.
Ms. Rose's has.
For more than a decade, this corner of West Ashley has held birthdays and neighborhood gatherings, quiet Tuesdays and Mother's Days, first dates and long goodbyes. What we set out to build was a good restaurant. What we actually built, together with you, was that and something rarer: a place where everyone could feel like family.
It is with full hearts that we announce Ms. Rose's will close after final brunch service on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
This decision was not made lightly, and it was not made quickly. Over the past several months, the realities of running an independent restaurant in today's landscape, including rising operating costs and the ongoing difficulty of staffing a kitchen to the standard our guests deserve, led us to an honest reckoning. We chose to close with integrity rather than continue in a diminished form and to honor what this place has been, rather than let it become something lesser.
To our guests
We will be open our regular hours through brunch service on May 30th, and every reservation on the books will be honored. We encourage gift card holders to join us before our final night of service. If you are unable to visit before we close, please visit msroses.com by September 30, 2026, to arrange a refund of your remaining gift card balance. Details will be available on the day of or before our last service. We encourage you to come in and use them. To book a last visit, please call us at (843) 766-0223 or reserve through Resy. We truly hope to see you.
To our team, past and present
You are Ms. Rose's. Every regular who became a regular, every belly fed, and every night the dining room hummed was because of you. Ownership is committed to standing by the people who wore this apron through whatever comes next: tenure-based severance, written references, personal introductions, and a genuine effort to help every member of our team find the right next chapter.
To West Ashley
Our investment in this community doesn't close with the doors. The ownership group intends to be a thoughtful and active steward of the Sam Rittenberg space, and we are committed to seeing it become home to something that continues the tradition of community-minded ideas and gathering people together, in hospitality or otherwise. We'll share more as those plans take shape.
Ms. Rose's was named for a woman who understood that a shared meal is one of life's most loving acts. More than a decade of full tables, of neighbors becoming regulars and regulars becoming friends, is the truest tribute we could have offered her name.
Thank you for letting us be part of your lives, your celebrations, your community. The best parts of this work have always been the people. We will miss you deeply.
With gratitude and with care, The Ms. Rose's Team
