Celebrate National Dessert Day at Ms. Rose’s Fine Food & Cocktails
Happy National Dessert Day! Elizabeth Gorman, Executive Pastry Chef at Ms.Rose’s Fine Food & Cocktails, is whipping up her peanut butter pie for this yummy holiday. And, since we know it’s a customer favorite, Liz, decided she would share her recipe so you can make it to enjoy at home (or you can always just stop by Ms. Rose’s to indulge in a yummy piece)!
Peanut Butter Pie Recipe by Elizabeth Gorman of Ms. Rose’s Fine Foods, Charleston, South Carolina:
For the crust:
3 Cups of crushed Oreos
1/4 cup of melted butter
Pinch of salt
9″ pie pan
For the filling:
8oz peanut butter
8oz cream cheese, room temp
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
For the Ganache topping:
6oz semi sweet chocolate chips
5oz of heavy cream
  1. Make the crust: Mix all ingredients and press into pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 min. Let cool completely
  2. Make the filling: Mix cream cheese and peanut butter until creamy. Add in powdered sugar and vanilla, combine. Mix in heavy cream until fluffy. Spoon into pie shell , flattening the top.
  3. Make the Ganache topping: Heat cream until warm. Pour over chocolate chips and whisk until smooth and shiny. Pour to cover filling. Refrigerate until firm and enjoy!
