On the 1st day of Cookies, Chef Gorman brings to us:

Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

½ stick of butter
¾ cup of brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp of almond extract
Pink gel food coloring
1 ½ cups of AP flour
½ tsp of baking soda
Pinch of salt
¾ cup of finely chopped Maraschino cherries, drained
¾ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F
  2. In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar until fluffy then add egg, extracts, and gel and mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl combine flour, soda, and salt. Add dry mixture to sugar mixture until combined.
  4. With a spatula fold in cherries and chocolate chips and scoop dough into balls onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes. Making sure not to overbake or they will lose their pink color.
